Permalinks are not working

  • Hi

    If I change my site to use permalinks my posts can’t be accessed. I have tried everything I found about similar problems.

    – the file .htaccess is in /var/www/html/ and has permissions 777 (so anyone can write on it). This is also the directory where wordpress is installed.
    – I checked htppd.conf and modified it to load the rewrite module. (
    LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so)

    – When I update permalinks I don’t receive any error, it says it has been updated correctly but then I won’t be able to access my posts.

    Please help!

    – Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file.
    – If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.
    – If clearing your Permalinks does not alleviate the issue, this could be attributed to anything from a web server configuration to a bad WordPress install.
