• About a week ago I switched from standard permalinks to “pretty” permalinks (/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/). When I did that, my feedburner rss feed stopped working.

    When I updated the feedburner link with the recommended link (https://example.com/feed/rss2/) and it then said:

    The URL does not appear to reference a valid XML file. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 5: The element type “meta” must be terminated by the matching end-tag “</meta>”.

    In order to determine if the problem was with feedburner or wordpress, I deactivated the feedburner plug-in and the rss links on my page continued to forward to feedburner.

    If I change the permalinks back to “standard” the RSS works fine. If they are another setting, the RSS does not work. I switched it back and forth several times to make sure the permalinks were the issue and they certainly appear to be.
