• Hi,
I posted a while back about my permalinks not working.
But its still not right. I understood the replies to be that I cannot post a permalink to another page.
So can I just disable the permalink
Here is a link to my website
    https://www.debtfreeforlife.co.nz

On the page if you put the mouse over the words – click a menu
    you can see the permalink.
If I try and change it to the seminar-information page it just doesn’t go there.
Instead I can just disable that so you can’t click on anything. But I don’t know how to do that. If I go into the page and click on quick edit – I can see the name of the permalink which is also called the Slug. If I delete the text in it, it just goes back in there when I save the page.

  • WordPress will automatically give it a “Slug” when you save based ont he title if nothing is in the “Slug” area when you save.

If you don’t want it to have the permalink that is the title just type any slug you want into the slug box and save that. Then you can save another page with that slug if you want to use it somewhere else.

OK Thanks I’ll try that, but is there a way to delete the permalink entirely.

I did try that but it doesn’t work.
I gave the name of the slug the same name as the slug of the About Me page but when I save the page it puts a 2 after the slug name and when I click the link the page doesn’t go to the About me page.
I wonder if its because my version of wordpress is only 4.9.1

I decided to change the template to Hestia that fixed the permalink issue.
But now I have another issue.
I added the same image to The Big Title Background area
and the picture has lost some of the brightness or contrast and now its too dark
