permalinks

hey, just wondering if anybody could give me advice on permalinks. i have a basic site with gallery pages & about pages etc and then i have a blog page. how do I set up permalinks for the blog and for the other pages. if i want date and times on the url for posts but i want simple urls for the others e.g. https://www.wordpress/about how do i acheive this and have different time ones for the blog? are there separate settings?
