• From Settings, I clicked on the Custom field to activate PostName. When I saved the changes the dot moved to SamplePost above. I thought I could make it stick by changing the Permissions from 644 to 777 on my Browser Cpanel. This didn’t work. Where do I go from here. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What exactly are you entering in the custom structure?

If you’re only entering /%postname%/ the dot is switching to the Post Name preset instead because it’s exactly the same, you don’t need to enter a custom structure for that.

O.K.Thanks. If it it the same, I’m wondering why my Contact Us and About Us
pages come out as shown below. How do I get these to appear clearly as extensions of the URL showing the exact page name on the address bar?

The first one is what you see when you preview the page, no matter what your permalink structure is.

The second one is what you’ll see when the page is published.
