Permalink to Uploaded Image

Does anyone know how to go about doing this?
What I’m trying to do is change the thumbnail of the product category image that’s displayed on the side of the cart to whatever image(s) the customer uploads.

I see where it’s referenced in cart.php, but the image thats uploaded by the customer is part of the meta data… i’m guessing you’d reference its’ key????
It shouldn’t be that difficult I would assume since it shows the link to their uploaded image in the cart.
