  • In general, No, because categories are hierarchical and you can have the same name in multiple places of the hierarchy and they are different categories.

    In practice, Yes, you can write a filter that changes the permalink everywhere it’s used, but it would be easier to just change the parent of the subcategory to one level up.

    Actually, let me amend my statement. You are wanting to remove the taxonomy part of the permalink? Or was that just a generic way to show your example?
    You can remove the “category” portion, but they it might conflict with existing page names.

    I’m trying to change the subcategory taxonomy.
    Do you have any idea how to make it happen? A code?
