Permalink Structure for Portfolio Items

Hi everyone
I am rebuilding a website which has very good SEO rankings for two of its pages, these are https://www.example.co.uk/suppliers & https://www.website.example.co.uk/showroom using Virtue Portfolio items.

Portfolio creates a permalink structure like https://www.example.co.uk/portfolio/showroom, etc and https://www.example.co.uk/suppliers

Does anyone know how I might be able to get rid of the /portfolio/ part of the permalink? If I built these as a Page, the permalink structure would not change from the original, but a Page would not give me the functionality I need.
