• I can NOT get the permalink structure to work for this blog

    https://th.eophil.us

I have checked the .htacess file, it looks fine, it is being created like it is supposed to be, I even tried to chmod to 660, 666, 777, nothing works.

This is a clean install, nothing ever run, yet permalinks won’t work. I have never had a problem with permalinks not working on a clean install, can’t figure out if it might be something with wp 2.5.1 or what?

    Please, anyone, can you help?

  • Is it the default permalink structure, or are you trying to change it to /%postname%/ ? You seem to be trying to reinstall WordPress as I type this.

Never could get anything to work, had to delete all blog files, upload wp 2.5 and install on different database, now it is working. Doesn’t mean it was fixed?

Yes, permalink structure was /%postname%/ does that matter? It was the default wp chose.

Try changing it to the default permalink structure and try using /wp-admin/upgrade.php or whatnot to update your database.

Last week I had your same issue as you, and it just needed to update the database, maybe that’s the same problem. Unless it’s just not writing to your .htaccess for some reason.

You could also try installing 2.3.2, then upgrading.
