    Hi,

Thanx for this nice plugin which we happily used over the last year.

However we noticed an error recently.
We have a notification, to be send upon publishing a new post. In the body of the post we have a link with as destination the shortcode [permalink].

The short code should expand to <a href=”https://my-site/new-post”>read here</a> but in our lastnotification it expanded to <a href=”https://https//my-site/new-post”>read here</a>

The permalink of the post is: https://my-site/new-post.

Do you have any idea where this comes from, or how i could mitigate this?

    Thnx,
    Frans

    Hi @franszs,
    Thanks for your message.

I haven’t had any other reports of this. It’s possible a filter somewhere inside WordPress is changing this. One thing you can check is the raw source of the email to see if this is indeed the case or if it’s something your email client/app is adding to the link.

Let me know how you get on.

    hi @voltronik,

    thnx for your fast reply.

    My mail client is thunderbird; if i select view – source (not sure this is named so in english) or ctrl-u, i see the plain message and inside it: <a href=”https://https://my-site.nl/test/”&gt;

So i guess it’s some filter then. As a workaround i use the permalink as plain text which gives the correct URL, but is not clickable.

    Thnx,
    Frans

    Hi @franszs,
    No problem.

    Can you try:

    <a href="[permalink]">Link Text</a>

Or is that what you had before?

    Hi @voltronik,

Indeed using the text editor and typing the html with the shortcode did the trick. Before i used the visual editor and entered the shortcode in the pop up you get when using the link button (the little chain).

    Thnx for your help.
