Permalink settings for “folders” in the Library

Hi

I have WordPress permalink set to:

Settings > Permalink > Postname

Is there anyway of having media in the Library access from a folder name such as the below (i would guess this needs a plugin):

Media = test.jpg
Would like to access : https://domain.com/folder/test/ OR https://domain.com/folder/test.jpg

The above setting will result in https://domain.com/test/ (which will then push out the image)

We are trying to avoid the “root” store ending up as total mayhem of files with no organisation (at least in the Library and access URL), especially as PDF files will be hosted, with no folders (in some form) its going to get real messy.

Any ideas?
