so i want my post name and categories to appear in the URLs for my pages. I changed the Permalink Settings to: CUSTOM STRUCTURE /%category%/%postname%/

however, now when i click on any of the pages or links away from my homepage (https://www.diveneycue.com/wordpress/), I get a 404 NOT FOUND error page.

    Not Found

The requested URL /wordpress/pat-diveney-cues/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.diveneycue.com Port 80

please advise how to fix. thanks.

did you move the install or change the site and blog url’s in “Settings”?

nope. the wordpress address URL is still set to https://bankingwiththebeard.com/wordpress

and the blog address URL is still set to https://bankingwiththebeard.com/wordpress

And under the REading settings, I have a static front page set to Home. And the Post page set to -Select-.

so i think i figured out what is wrong here. i called up the hosting company for this site and they said that these custom permalink settings are NOT available with IIS. The hosting plan uses a windows server, but these custom settings can only be done with Apache.
