Hi any time I change the Permalink Settings (on the admin) – from the Default to other options (and there are several), the links on my blog stop working (pages not found). Ether for existing posts or new posts.
    Any thoughts?

Make sure the .htaccess file is modified as a result.

1 – if you don’t have an .htaccess file, upload to your server, at the root level, a plain text file called access, then rename it to .htaccess once uploaded

2 – Normal permissions are 644. To make the file writable, change them to 777 before changing permalinks settings, but do it quickly and then change to 644 right away (very important!), or

3 – If WordPress can’t write the file and you leave it at 644, it will tell you what to write there from the permalinks settings page (copy and paste).

Well explained, buddha trance! I second that!

Also: .htaccess is a hidden file by default. If you can’t see it, make sure your FTP client displays hidden files.

If you have trouble uploading a blank .htaccess file, just call it anything.txt, upload it, change file permissions, then rename it to .htaccess

    Good luck!
