I am currently using wordpress 2.8.4 version. The permalinks on my blog currently are in this form- https://xyz.com/?p=123 which is the default mode.
I want to change them to the day and name format. But the permalinks tab on my site shows the following warnings.

Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter. in /mnt/r0341/d03/s40/b02c8f00/www/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 73

Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter. in /mnt/r0341/d03/s40/b02c8f00/www/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 73

I want to but I am too scared to change the form of permalinks, as there is extensive inter linking on my blog which I do not want to loose at any cost.

Please help me change the permalinks without making any glitches.

    Thanks

-discuss the issue with your webserver.

-ask them if the mod-rewrite is enabled.

-have read of this codex guide.

-last, but not least, if all the information is correct, try -deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually to find the culprit.

I am using LimauOrange theme with wordpress 2.8.4 version.

    Question 1:
My permalinks problem that I have mentioned above has not been solved yet, as I did not clearly understand what to do next.

    Question 2:
I have a wordpress scanner plugin installed and it mentions the following warnings:
-Your table prefix should not be wp_.
-The file .htaccess does not exist in wp-admin/.
What should I do to rectify these warnings?

    Question 3:
Also, I am unable to access the widgets folder in my website. When I click on the sidebar1 or sidebar2, they do not expand and I am unable to drag and drop the widgets into the sidebar. What should I do?

    Question 4:
The icons ‘add an image’ or ‘add video’, ‘add audio’, ‘add media’ that are present on a new post are not working. Any window does not open when I click on these icons. What is wrong?

    Question 5:
The drop down arrow on any button on my wordpress dashboard, plugins, appearance etc is not working. Why?

Can anyone explain me what should I be doing ‘in very detail’ please, because I am a complete noob in this area.

Ok, I was just going through other posts in the forum that complain of the same that the drop down arrow in admin menu button were not working, and that the widgets drag and drop was not working, and also about the ‘add image/video/media..’ icon when writing a new post not working.
I have successfully solved these problems by deactivating all plugins and then activating all plugins one by one individually until I found the culprit. The culprit was ‘wp-security scan’ plugin by ‘websitedefender’. Now I have deactivated this plugin and all else is working well.

But the problem with the permalinks still exists. And the same warnings are still showing up.
What shall I do, please help.

    Please post a new topic.
