permalink question…

Hello all…

been playing with permalinks…i want them (and if possible my URL) to read
https://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware
with scams-targeting-writers being the category and writer-beware the article name…
if i use
/%post-name%/
the URL is https://www.example.com/category/scams-targeting-writers
which is the category and not the article..and the permalink is
Permalink: https://www.example.com/%post-name%/
if I use
/%category%/%post-name%/
the URL is the same as above
https://www.barbaradoyen.com/category/scams-targeting-writers/
and the permalink is Permalink: https://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/%post-name%/
how can i get the URL (if possible) or at the very least the permalink to be https://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware?
or is this not a permalinks issue but a categories one?
