• i see that i originally set up my permalink structure as
    %postname%

and have published quite a few blog posts
I realise that I should have set it to /%category%/%postname%/
but when I do this now it doesnt show my existing posts….
and existing links on the web will not link to correct pages
..do I manually have to reconfigure all of them
or is there an easier way?

    thanx

  • Hi,
    I don’t know exact code.
But i think that , this kind of permalink will not work.
because permalink is related with page also. And a page hasn’t any category.

@kiddie: Custom permalink structures only affect Posts. Pages use /%pagename%/ automatically whenever a structure other that the default one is chosen. See Using_Permalinks.

@hayfj: Is your .htaccess file being updated?

WordPress will tell you when you update the permalink structure.
