• Hi guys!
I am a bit confused about all this WordPress as a newbie. I figured something out about permalinks but can someone tell me is it necessary to change that if I only have one page and no posts at all. And I am not planning to blog post anytime soon, if ever ??
So basically, a static webpage. I guess that regardless of it is a static page or a post website for blogging, I still should change that Plain option to something else.
A lot to discover really… Thanks in advance!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Why use WordPress for a single static page?
If there is only the page that is your root URL, it doesn’t matter what your permalink structure is. But if you ever add more pages, you would likely want them to be pretty permalinks instead of the plain option.

That′s longer and unfortunate story actually of why. But appreciated your reply. Now I have changed the settings: Read. I assume that this will be alright. I also noticed that I can not change the index page there (in settings) for something like my website/socializing (as the explanation of site) or smthg similar just for that one page. It simply stays as: Plain option activated regardless.
Thanks and enjoy your day Joy ??

The permalink options are just how WordPress interprets the URLs, based on the site URL. If you want your site URL to be something other than a domain name, you have to create the folder and put WordPress in there. But then any future pages have that same base folder in the URL.
