• Hi there!

Our organization’s WordPress website (domain msow.org) is hosted through a third-party company called Network Solutions, but our hosting, domain, and all other services with them are currently active and up-to-date.

Despite this, our URLs do not display correctly by default for any page except our homepage. This is true whether or not the administrator is logged in to WordPress at the time, cache/cookies have been cleared, and even on devices that are visiting our site for the first time. I am aware that the ‘Permalinks’ page in Settings can fix the suffix of the permalink, but our problems are with the prefix.

For example, instead of saying “msow.org/wordpress1/history/” our history page displays as https://0183151.netsolhost.com/wordpress1/history/ I reached out to our hosting company’s support team about this, but they insist that it is a WordPress issue. I have spoken to multiple people in multiple departments (domain and hosting) at the hosting company to confirm this.

If anyone has guidance about how this can be fixed, please let me know! I am not the one who decides which hosting company we use (and I think the organization renewed our subscription shortly before I started, so we still have a few months on it, anyway), so I’d prefer a solution that works with what we already have, but it is extremely unprofessional looking, especially when we are paying for our domain and for it to display correctly.

    Thank you!

  • You didn’t provide a domain name so I can’t check for other problems but I imagine this came about during an update of some pages or else this is a new install.

Since they are the web host, I’d think NetSOL should have been more than willing to help you but that’s on them!

Anyway, if you’ll go to the dashboard and then the settings you should find a place to add your domain name for the site there. Here’s a very good reference article about all of that that I often need to refer to myself.

I noticed the reference to the ‘WordPress1’ directory… that worries me slightly. Let us know if you run into more problems so we might help you with those also.
