• Hi There,

I’ve got a wordpress site set up that only uses pages, and I have the permalink structure set up to use /%post_id%/%postname%/ as this is supposed to give better performance on the site. Howeverm the post id isn’t showing in the urls…why is this? Do pages not have ids?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dan

  • The custom permalink structure is used for Posts only – not Pages.

Do you mean the post id is for posts only? I’ve seen countless articles on using custom permalink structures for page.

    When using custom permalinks, yes.

Ah balls. Is there any way of adding a word or number before the page name in the url, that you are aware of? I’ve looked at the codex and many other sources, and I can’t use the date in the url…
Thanks for the quick reply by the way.

Not to a Page – no. Not unless you use some sort of numeric or date in the Page’s title.
