Permalink linking to /blog-2/ instead of /blog/

I asked a question earlier, and long story short the answer was to make a “blog” page and change “posts page” to point to that. This worked fine until I changed my permalink structure to /%category%/%postname%/. Now instead of site.com/blog/, it links to site.com/blog-2/. Did I not do something right? Or will I just have to fix that with a mod_rewrite?
