• Hi all…

I’m trying to set up WordPress with a current site. I setup the files inside /blog with the index.php in the main directory. Enabled permalinks and changed the .htaccess file.

I changed index.php to blog.php (and updated the .htaccess) file as appropriate.

The problem is when I link to the blog: https://whatever/blog.php the home page is blank, doesn’t show any of the posts.

However, https://whatever/2008/08/ works just fine and shows all of the posts from August…linking to a story from there works as well. If I turn off permalinks, the home page works.

Any suggestions? I can provide further information if needed. Thanks.

    Mark

  • any fix on this? i’m having the same issue….

    thanks tracy

There is no fix for it because it is a wrong approach. You can NOT rename the index.php of WP to anything else. Period.

What is it exactly what you want to achieve? Don’t get technical, just described the desired end result. Describe WHAT you want and leave the HOW-TO for the helpers.
