permalink help please – permalinks and categories

    Hello wordpress forum users –
    I am working on setting up a new blog and I will have posts in categories named after cities
    for example – categories are: new-york, chicago, pittsburgh, san-diego

    Is it possible to have the link structure
    mydomain.com/category

    so mydomain.com/chicago or mydomain.com/pittsburgh

    I have tried this on my site but I can only get
    mydomain.com/category/new-york
