Permalink edit missing in new post/ Drafts not saving

  • I have currently updated to 3.0.4. When I am writing a post the permalink edit field is now missing which is normally under the title. If I publish the blog and then go back in and edit the post the permalink appears and which I can then edit.

    Also, when I try and save a post to drafts it doesn’t save.

    It is possible to work around these problems but is frustrating and time consuming.

    Any advice would be much appreciated

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing the memory available to PHP?
