Permalink custom setting not working online

Do you have mod_rewrite module on your live server?
If yes, then update your permalink structure and also check if your .htaccess contains right contents.

Thanks for your reply, I have updated my permalink structure but when I check my .htaccess file it has no effect on it, please guide me what I should do to figure this problem. I have no idea of mod_rewrite
