I’m using version 1.3.6. Previously, this plugin worked fine for me. This issue occurred before, and then it stopped. However, it appears to come back.

When I click “Revisionize” on a post, the permalink will change to the title of the posts. When I try to change the permalink back to the original one of the post, it will add a -2 to it.

    For example:
    Original:
    -Sample Blog Post Title
    —mydomain.com/blog-post

    Revisionize:
    -Sample Blog Post Title
    —new permalink: mydomain.com/sample-blog-post-title
    —try changing it back: mydomain.com/blog-post-2

Revisionize is designed so that the permalink of the parent post does not change. This is kind of the whole point of Revisionize.

So even if you change the permalink of the child post (the one you’re revising), it should not overwrite the original permalink at all.

When you say “changing it back”, what are you trying to do?

Have you activated or deactivate some other plugins that might conflict with Revisionize?

Regardless, I can’t reproduce the problem you’re reporting. Or I’m not understanding exactly what steps your doing to create the problem.

When I press “revisionize” to update a post it changes my permalink immediately as the post loads. I try to change it back to the original post, and it won’t let me. It adds a “-2” to the end of it.

I’ve deactivated all of my plugins and the issue still occurs. I have also tried to save my permalinks and it still occurs. I can’t preserve the original permalinks anytime I try to update my posts.

Is there a way I can install the previous version of the plugin before the latest update? As I mentioned in my original post, it was working fine last week.

Have you published? You can ignore the permalink that is set for the “revision”. It will always be different from the original. Once you publish it will copy the changes you made to the revision back onto the the original and continue to use the original permalink.

You can find older versions on wp.org. But I’m still not following how you think it’s not working – it is.

    The workflow is:
    1. Click revisionize
    2. Make the changes to your post or page – ignore the permalinks
    3. Click publish on the revisionized post
    4. The original post will have the changes and maintain the same permalink.
