permalink change without losing shares?

    Hi benpi,
    Unfortunately the shares counter is taken directly from social networks (the data are not stored on your site).
    So if you change the parmalink you lose the number of shares since the permalink will be different.

    pardon, last question: can I do nothing also if have redirected every post with 301 redirection (with the Redirection plugin)?

    Unfortunately it is not a problem of redirects!
    Social networks have a “database” that are associated with the number of shares to a specific URL.
    If this URL changes the “database” starts from 0.

    I want to clarify that there is not a “defect” of plugins, many plugins like Cresta Social Share Counter using the same technique ??
