Permalink Change for Single Page

My permalink is an ugly one; my problem is that I have sent out links to various pages and don’t want those links broken. If I change my permalink settings for all the pages I’m afraid that will happen. How do I change this one page to /subscribe? I’ve read several answers to this question but they are over my head. Can I just change all the links and not have my public links to pages broken?
