• The url displays hello world and does not automatically go to my home page. I am unable to delete ‘home’ in home page permalink and/or remove slug ‘home’. How do I get url to automatically go to my home page? I don’t want visitors to have to type an extension of /home or have to see Hello World and then click on ‘home’ link. I was able to remove extension /home in permalink of home page for homesinestrellamountain.com with no problem. Can’t seem to do the same. If I make it a static page, it solves the permalink and slug issue but then distorts my home page colors, and the header is missing. Please advise.

  • To set a static page as your home page, you need to log into your WordPress backend and go to “Settings”–>”Reading”. For the option “Your homepage displays” you need to select “A Static Page” and then from the drop down menu pick the page “Home”. Then save the changes.

thank you but you must have responded at the same time I edited my request. The static page distorts the home page colors and the header is gone.
