Periods in post title stripped in permalinks

  • Is there a way to prevent this from happening? The postnames are supposed to be websites and when I enable permalinks instead of domain.com.html it comes out as domaincom.html..

    Has anybody found a way to go around this?

  • No. Periods have special meaning in URLs (indicating a domain, subdomain, or file extension) so their use here is rightly restricted. The same goes for slashes, question marks, and other similar characters.

    found a plugin to stop periods from gettings removed.. doesn’t seem to work though..

    are post permalinks cached somehow?
