Hi, i herrited a big WooCommerce site: 15K products, WPML with 2 languages.
The site has speed issues, for sure.

I’m noticing The SEO Framework plugin. I didn’t know the plugin, but i’m impressed.

The Performance setting is now on for both ‘Enable search query alteration?’ and ‘Enable archive query alteration?’, and they have choosen the alteration ‘In the database’.
The text mentioned this will affect speed. Is that also for WooCommerce (maybe a dumb question ;-).

So, what is your advice around these settings in this case? Choose the alteration ‘on the site’ or uncheck the alteration?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dave!

Sorry for the delay. I’m happy to hear you’re impressed! I hope that’s still the case ??

The performance settings are there only for when you’re experiencing issues — if you aren’t, you can safely leave them at their default values, which I recommend for all sites.

The settings affect all archive-and search queries. So, yes, the settings affect WooCommerce as well. The impact should be negligible because we (with the help of users like you) ironed out all performance issues since I introduced the feature.

Still, you’re free to flick off and on the options, and test for yourself, whichever helps large site queries best.

I hope this explains the lot. Have a nice day!
