Performance of the stats.wordpress.com server

My WordPress blog has been abysmally slow over the past 4 or 5 days. Response time measured by a stop watch go from 1.5 seconds to over 25 seconds to get any response at all. I am using wp-cache, so I don’t think the database is slowing me down.
I just got the following two lines in my Firefox Weblog window.
[15:08:01.848] GET https://stats.wordpress.com/e-201142.js [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 157ms]
[15:08:41.503] GET https://ssgreenberg.name/PoliticsBlog/wp-content/themes/mk2-10/style.css [HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified 1125ms]Does the 40 seconds between the time I tried to do a Get on https://stats.wordpress.com/e-201142.js and the time I tried another get indicate that your server is slowing down my blog response time?
Whatever the cause of the performance problem, my views per day is dropping like a rock.
