performance issues with plugin
-
ISSUE SUMMARY
With XT WooCommerce Floating Cart enabled and when logged in, the site takes roughly twice as long to load on all pages. On my site, for example, the home page, uncached and logged in as admin, takes about 4-5 seconds to load. With the same conditions an XT WooCommerce Floating Cart loaded and a couple products in the cart, it can take 10-15 seconds to load. We also notice other backend pages taking significantly longer to load.DETAILS
I have tried using the AJAX loading option, hoping that all aspects of the floating cart would be loaded via AJAX but it’s evident that WooCommerce is fully initialized on every page load still – it even seems to affect the loading of backend pages a little bit but not by much … about .5sI’m not too worried about the backend performance, but the front-end performance is an issue for us. We don’t have a large site. We have about 25 products, 10 pages, and 3 blog posts. We have no comments. I have checked our database for errors and we are clear.
WORKAROUND
I have not found a workaround for this issue yet. I would love it if the ‘load via AJAX’ option solved it by offloading all woocommerce calculations and database queries to the ajax calls on the front end.Hope this makes sense. I think it’s a great plugin and I’m happy to help with development if you’d like.
