Performance issues

    I did some performance benchmark with the P3 plugin, here are the results :

    Site URL: https://www.mendoweb.be/blog

    Plugin Load Time: 0.9152seconds avg.
    Theme Load Time: 0.0666seconds avg.
    Core Load Time: 0.1512seconds avg.

    Plugin Impact: 78.8% (of page load time)
    Total Plugins: 5 (currently active)

    Crayon Syntax Highlighter: 55% 0.5035s
    Jetpack by WordPress.com: 37% 0.3393
    Wordpress Seo: 6% 0.0547
    Other: 2% 0.0177

    I must add that I guess that I don’t have the best hosting service, but (correct me if I’m wrong) there is only css/javascript files, and it shouldn’t depend on the hosting server, but instead on the client’s performances; the computer I tested with is new with decent hardware.
    Also I know I have only a very few other plugins to compare Crayon with, but still, an average of half a second is enormous! (1) What makes Crayon take so much time ?

    But the most interesting is that I don’t even use it yet on the pages, so firstly it is loaded absolutely for nothing. Secondly, it shouldn’t be formatting anything, (2) then how does that explain the runtime by Crayon ?

    (3) Isn’t there ANY way to load Crayon ONLY if there is actual code to format ?
