Performance issue / where to find generated htaccess rules

    We love this plugin as we are currectly transitioning from a 100.000+ page website to a 100+ page website.

    There is however one HUGE downside. The load of crawlers which are getting generated WordPress 404 pages is now so huge that our website is effectively down.

    Where can I therefore find the htaccess rules this plugin generates? And how could I for example write a handcoded htaccess rule to serve all crawlers a static 404 message instead of a dynamic one?
