• In the olden days of B2, there was a B2-people hack which allowed to show a pic and description of people whose names appeared in posts. After making a list of people, the hack linkified their names automatically when typed into a post.
Does anyone know if a similar plugin exists for WP? (Couldn’t find one in the official plugin database).
    Thanks y’all

  • There is a plugin called acronym-replacer-revisited. If my memory is working, it allowed you to create a list of acronyms and on mouseover in a post, a definition and link would appear. Maybe it could e modified to pop up an image??? Since I’m at work, please email me and I’ll look at the plugin tonight.

I’m sure other people will also come up with a solution for you.

Check out Acropop on Red Alt
I’ve not tried it but the description seems right for you…

Well, thanks for the response but neither of these tops the old B2 people hack. Acropop only allows images and the other would involve making an HTML page for each person. The original created a new table which stocked text and image and restituted both in a popup window.
If anyone has any more ideas…

Sorry Jimatwork but I didn’t find how to email you…

Bricolou: Sorry, I was using a different login while at work. From this post, you’ll see my member info and can email me. I just reactivated the acronyms-revisited plugin on my blog. If you look at the first post, you’ll see AOL in the post. It is a link and has a popup text message. What you would like is a popup image instead of text, I think. My site is https://www.jwurster.us/wordpress/.

jwurster: Thanks for your reply by email. I’ll put that on the plugins suggestions thread.

You might want to start a new suggestion thread.
