• Hello, I was wondering if people can “pretend” to be admin when posting comments?

or does WordPress block comments made by the admin username via IP Adress?

for example, my username right now is “admin” and all posts made by me are “Admin” but what if someone posts a comment and puts “Admin” in the name field and says something rude.

will wordpress automatically block the comment because the username “admin” is not usable or do i have to moderate the comment manually.

    thanks

  • Your site loads terribly slow, and no WP doesnt do that out of the box (as you can see from my comment). It wouldnt be hard to do that though… and you might want to browse through the plugins just to see if it has been already.

I know. I don’t know what’s going on. I think there’s some difficulties with the host today… it wasn’t like that this morning.

I’ll google and see if I find anything.

    abcdefgary,

    I found the solution : https://www.skippy.net/blog/2005/11/21/impostercide-12/

works like a charm ?? and I would reccomend that as a must have plugin

Thanks. I’m not sure how it works though… because I can make comments using another person’s name for some reason, as well as their e-mail.
