    When I do a test purchase using PayPal sandbox, the Purchase Confirmation page shows the Payment Status as Pending. I have to refresh the page in order to Complete the purchase and see the download link. Will my customers have to refresh the page to see the link?

    Do customers have to create an account on my website in order to make a purchase?

    How do they create an account?

    Once a customer makes a purchase, do they receive an email that has the download link or do they only get the link from the Purchase Confirmation page?

    For your query,

    1) Will my customers have to refresh the page to see the link?
    Ans – No there is no need to refresh the page. The Payment process done on a IPN (Instant Payment Notification) basis. It looks like it is calling a little bit later. You can see IPN settings at plugin setting page. Please refer the screenshot https://prntscr.com/q5xjpy

    You can enable the test payment from Plugin Settings > Payment Gateways Tab > Test Mode.

    2) Do customers have to create an account on my website in order to make a purchase?

    Ans – Its up to you and plugin settings how you want. Plugin supports both the feature. Guest Checkout as well as account checkout.

    Please see Plugin Settings > Misc (Tab) > Checkout (Sub Tab) > Require Login.
    Below it there is one settings “Show Register / Login Form?”. Choose your setting as you want.

    Ans – Yes, on purchase user will get email notification and they will get the download link in it.

    You can configure the mail from Plugin Settings > Emails (Tab) > Purchase Receipts (Sub Tab)

    Thanks for the info. I do have PayPal sandbox set up and for some reason when I do a test purchase, I do not receive a buyer email that has the download link. When I go to the sandbox, I see a receipt notification from PayPal, but no buyer email from my website. How do I see what a buyer confirmation/link email looks like?

    To clarify, when I do a test using PayPal sandbox, I know to check the “Test Mode” box. But there are three Payment Gateway options:

    PayPal Standard
    Test Payment
    Amazon

    Should I check PayPal Standard or Test or both?

    And… Once a buyer has downloaded a file can they forward the email that has the download link to a friend so they can download it for free?
