• Hi,

Is it possible to set a booking on a calendar as pending/provisional/reserved?

This is mostly for cases where the customer is not sure when they will come and asks to reserve the property for a period of time.

It should not stop new inquiries about those dates though.

    Thank you,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,

there is a setting called “Unconfirmed Bookings block dates”, which when enabled blocks dates for open bookings in the front end. I think that’s what you are looking for.

    Kindly,
    Jan

    Hi Jan,

I tested this and it does part of what I am looking for: It allows the dates to be automatically listed as ‘booked’ upon submission of a booking request. This makes sense when the customer pays right away, but is not ideal in the case where a booking can be accepted/rejected by hotel staff.

What I was hoping for is that there is another display on the booking form for ‘pending’. If the hotel staff accept the booking then it is ‘booked’. If they reject the booking then it is ‘available.’

‘Pending’ communicates to the site visitor that it is not yet a confirmed booking, but a possible one. When they see their required dates as ‘pending’ they are still able to contact the hotel owner about them.

‘Pending’ also allows the hotel owner to reserve dates for potential visitors while leaving the door open for a new query about those dates.

I thought that I could implement what I am looking for with the ‘partly booked’ option. However, it is not mean for this purpose and becomes a headache for hotel staff to manage.
