Pending Order and Stock issue

Sometimes customers leave the checkout in between and then try to place order of same product again. In such case how can i redirect them to previous pending order instead of allowing duplicate order?
Because the stock of product is reduced till the order is in pending state, customers are unable to place fresh order if the quantity of product was only 1. In such cases I have to manually cancel their previous pending orders so that they can place order again.
Is it possible that customer are either redirected to previous pending order or I have a link to redirect them to old order instead of placing duplicate one?
