• I am using PDF.js to embed PDF’s in Tutor LMS and hitting an issue in the Lesson’s. I embed PDFs in the lesson content area using a shortcode and when you go into a course and click on the lesson with an embedded PDF from the left hand Course Content navigator the PDF does not load.

Refresh the page and the PDF loads correctly and when using the “Next” and “Previous” Lesson buttons then the PDF loads correctly. It just does not load correctly from the left hand navigator (tested in both Firefox & Chrome).

I have contacted Tutor LMS and they said:-
“I am very sorry, we don’t have any support for this plugin. That’s why you are facing the issue.

Actually, the PDF file loads properly if refresh the full page. But when you click on the left side menu to navigate new Leeson then just lesson content parts are refreshing.”

Any ideas/input on the root cause and to whether this is a PDF.js issue?

Just tested by adding an image from the Media Library above the PDF shortcode and that renders in Tutor LMS, but the embedded PDF does not. This is only when clicking the left have lesson navigator.

I’m not sure how Tutor LMS works or what their codebase looks like, however I’d guess that it’s a JavaScript conflict.

Any chance you can get me a URL to test with?

    Hello Thomas,

My course is not live yet, but the issue is in my hosted “Live” setup where it does not work from the left hand lesson list, but it does if I refresh the page or use the lesson next or previous links. As a side note, it works correctly on my desktop Laragon test stack.

Sadly as yet, there is not an easy URL to provide to you to test

    Hello Thomas,

I have created a course to demonstrate the issue between Tutor LMS and PDF.js. I am using the free version of Tutor LMS and that requires a user is logged on to the system, so I need to create an account for you to view the course.

Can I get your email details to forward you on the account details and URL?

    Many thanks
