PDF with Japanese Characters

Thanks for the note.
I tried changing it to below as well deploying the corresponding ttf file to the /fonts folder, however with the same result.

src: local(‘FF_MINCHO’), local(‘FF_MINCHO’), url(<?php echo $this->get_template_path(); ?>/fonts/ipam.ttf) format(‘truetype’);
}

Please advise.

Looking to your screenshot I don’t think that’s the correct path, please try this:

<?php echo $this->get_template_path(); ?>/woocommerce/pdf/jp/fonts/ipam.ttf

I gave it a try however the result is the same as well.

I tried changing the font name from “FF_MINCHO” to “IPAMincho” however with the same result as well.

Please advise.

A recap about the possible outcomes to fix the Japanese font issues.

1) Using the ipam.ttf font:

1. Download the ipam.ttf font file here: https://github.com/loveencounterflow/jizura-fonts/blob/master/fonts/ipam.ttf (click the download button)
2. Create a custom template following this guide: https://docs.wpovernight.com/woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips/creating-a-custom-pdf-template/
3. Add a fonts directory inside the custom template and put the ipam.ttf inside it
4. Add the code snippet below to your custom template style.css file:

@font-face {
	font-family: 'IPAMincho';
	font-style: normal;
	/*font-weight: normal;*/ /* gives error */
	src: local('IPAMincho'), local('IPAMincho'), url(<?php echo $this->get_template_path(); ?>/fonts/ipam.ttf) format('truetype');
}
@font-face {
	font-family: 'IPAMincho';
	font-style: normal;
	font-weight: bold;
	src: local('IPAMincho Bold'), local('IPAMincho-Bold'), url(<?php echo $this->get_template_path(); ?>/fonts/ipam.ttf) format('truetype');
}

Also inside the style.css file add inside the body add the instruction below:

font-family: 'IPAMincho';

2) Alternatively you can use our mPDF extension that has a built in Japanese font, you can download it here: https://github.com/wpovernight/woocommerce-pdf-ips-mpdf/releases/download/v2.2.0/woocommerce-pdf-ips-mpdf.CJK.zip
