PDF Thumbnails no longer being generated

Same issue on Pantheon with the latest wordpress version 5.7.1. Any solutions?

Depending on the system, you may need to edit /etc/ImageMagick-6/policy.xml or /etc/ImageMagick-7/policy.xml and change this line:

<policy domain="coder" rights="none" pattern="PDF" />

to:

<policy domain="coder" rights="read" pattern="PDF" />

This worked for me as of 2021-08-27

$attachment_id = array_keys(get_attached_media('*,*',$post->ID))[0];
echo wp_get_attachment_image( $attachment_id, 'full', $icon, $attr );
