    Hello,

I’m wondering whether the plugin could offer a PDF stamping functionality. In other words, when a customer buys a PDF file (such as an ebook), his/her name and other personal information gets stamped in every page of the file. This functionality would prevent illegal sharing of the document.

    Thanks a lot,
    rid

  • Hello, this is something I am searching for, too.
Were you able to find a solution please?
If so, let me know please. Thanks a lot!

This is possible, depends on how you deliver the file. Is it a download attached to an email, or is the download link inserted into the email and the buyer then comes to your site to download the file?

Thank you! Actually I prefer to send the customer the link. I tried it and everything works but all customers download the same file. I would like to stamp the files with their names in order to avoid sharing of the pdf…
    Thank you!

This is somewhat problematic. There are many versions of PDF files, some use compression not supported in other versions, so in short, you’d have to save all PDF files in version 1.4 in order to make this widely effective across all PDF files. And that version may or may not be viable for you. This is something you have to check into to see what limitations and/or risks are involved in having PDFs in v1.4 format.

If it turns out that 1.4 is Ok for you, then as I said, this feature is possible. But it’s not quick to build. So you’d wind up paying to have it built – unless you know a PHP / WooCommerce developer willing to built it for free.

Thank you very much! That sounds pretty complicated. Of course I don’t know PHP… But I am sure I will find a solution / a person who helps me to solve it. Thank you very much for your effort!
