I started having issues with PDF embedder about two months ago. It started with just removing elements in the logo and changing coloring. I had posted our Thanksgiving menu with no issues:
    https://cateredbydesign.com/thanksgiving-menu/
Now I posted the holiday menu and it has removed numerous areas including, headers, pricing, and design elements. The logo I removed from the PDF that my designer sent and replaced it with a PNG file, which is a temporary solution.
I loaded the original PDF that shows the error with the logo on our delivery menu:
    https://cateredbydesign.com/menu-delivery-drop-off/
That menu is designed the same way that the holiday menu was, but did not lose headers, pricing or other elements.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

    Other information:
    Running on Salient theme
Two plug-ins that I have tried deactivating to see if that was the issue are WP Rocket and Imagify. I did not uninstall them, because I feel as though it would do the same thing to all the PDF’s, but it only seems to be doing it to recently added menus.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Hi @tschabs21,

The PDF Embedder will not remove or otherwise alter the original document; however, if there are multiple image layers and/or unflattened transparencies, the script may not recognize these and fail to render them as a result. It is possible that that the documents were created the same way but the final output step was different resulting in the missing elements.

For best results, ensure that when the document is exported to PDF for web publishing, that the options to flatten layers and transparencies is selected.
