PDF file not being replaced, does filename need to be different?

Hello,

I have a file in my media library that I am trying to replace with an updated file with identical filename.

When I try to use media replace, the file is not successfully replaced. The whole process works as if it has been successfully replaced, but it isn’t actually replaced.

Is this because the filenames are identical?
