    Hi,

I’m using EmbedPress PDF to embed PDFs on both desktop and mobile on this website https://uwua132.org/.

Multiple users reported that they can’t view the embedded PDF on Apple, Safari browser.

Now, I don’t own any Apple devices, so debugging this isn’t possible for me. I’m afraid I can’t provide a link to those PDFs, because that content is restricted. Is this a known issue by any chance? The PDF embeds are working fine on Edge/Chrome, it’s only Safari that has this issue.

    Hi @mihaicircea,

    Greetings! Hope you’re doing good.

Really sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing. We have checked the embedded PDF from the apple device, specially from Safari browser, and found that It’s working perfectly, as you can see: https://d.pr/v/Ll758w

I suggest you, kindly make sure that you’re using the latest version of EmbedPress plugin and also you can check with clearing your site cache & also browsers as well.

I hope it will be helpful. Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
    ~Amit.

    Hi Amit,

    Thank you for checking!

I do have the latest version installed and have cleared the site’s cache. Unfortunately, I don’t own an Apple device, so I can’t really debug this. I can only make changes based on the info I have from the client. They have ~1,500 members on the website and everyone who uses Safari has this issue (the PDF not being rendered on the page). I have no idea how to even debug this, even if I did have access to Safari. Got any tips?

    Hi?@mihaicircea,

I have visited the URL that you shared: https://uwua132.org/. I found that the EmbedPress plugin is not used to embed the PDF. If there is any content from the EmbedPress, then it would definitely be visible while inspecting. Please check this screencast: https://d.pr/v/PrW5Oi . You are using any other element to embed that. So, this issue is not related to our EmbedPress plugin. Will you please try with the EmbedPress PDF widget/block from the EmbedPress plugin and check if that resolves your issue?

You can check this documentation to get the details: https://embedpress.com/docs/embed-document/

Hope you understand. Please let me know if you have further queries or need assistance.

    Thank you.

Which PDF are you talking about?

There are no PDF embeds on the homepage. I’ve already stated that all of the PDF embeds are behind a login.

I don’t understand the point of that screencast??

I am using the EmbedPress PDF block.

    Hi @mihaicircea,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Actually, we have tested this on our end from the Safari browser but did not encounter any problems. Since the PDFs are behind a login, could you please provide us with the public URL of the page where you are facing the issue with the PDF? This will help us investigate the issue further and assist you more effectively.

Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to your response.

    Thank you.

No worries, I’m just confused about that screencast lol. Seems to be completely unrelated to this.

Excluded this URL, so you can view it https://uwua132.org/split-day-press-release/.

    Thank you!

    Hi?@mihaicircea,,

Thanks for sharing the URL with us. I have visited the page that you shared via Safari browser. I found that the pdf is visible properly. Please check this screencast: https://d.pr/v/bZU2gL

Will you please check once again properly from the incognito mode of the browser?

    Thank you.

    Hi Amit,

Thank you so much for investigating!

I’ve passed this information along to my client. Do you think it could be an issue on the user’s end?

I don’t believe it’s a caching problem since it only occurs on Safari, and I’ve cleared the cache multiple times.

Unfortunately, I can’t verify it myself as I don’t own any Apple devices, so I have to rely on the feedback from my client’s members.
