PDF Documents

  • I am continually sent posters etc in PDF format. When I try to add media, they are not accepted for insert to a page. I have tried to paste them after converting the PDF to a Word.doc but nothing seems to work. Will someone please explain what is wrong and if there is a work-around please??

    When you say “not accepted”, what do you mean?

    Is there an error message when you attempt it?

    Perhaps the words “http error” in red text?

    What’s the average filesize of the PDFs? Have you tried uploading a small one to see if that works?

    Does this also happen with images?

    Hi Jason,

    Thanks for replying, much appreciated. There are no error messages and the problem happens with everything, text and pictures, it it’s in PDF when I go to upload media, select the file which loads alright but when I try to install to page, it won’t have it.

    Switch on PHP debugging and try again – any error now?

    Deactivate all plugins. Try again. Better? If so, narrow down which plugin’s at fault.

    Switch to the default theme. Try again. Better? If so, ask the theme author for support.

    Reinstall WordPress via Dashboard > Updated. Better?
