    Hello

when I enter a special character (like é) in a table cell, it is displayed with its JSON code. “Délai” is displayed “Du00e9lai”
If I enter the ´ it works correctly

I had the same problem with another plugin, the author corrected it by adding ” JSON_UNESCAPED_UNICODE” to his function. Does that ring a bell to you ?

(I had the problem on php 7.2 and 7.4 with a mariadb with utf8bm4)

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

This indicates that something on your site (another plugin or your theme) is running the stripslashes() PHP function somehwere. This is very similar to a way how TablePress table data can get corrupted, see https://tablepress.org/faq/corrupted-tables/#causes

Can you therefore please try again after temporarily deactivating all other plugins and after switching to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty? That way, we can find what’s causing this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thank you Tobias,

I went through all the plugins with strislashes() instructions and finally found the culprit, which was Twitter Embed. An old plugin not anymore necessary !

    Kind regards

    Hi,

great find! Good to hear that everything is working again ??
This might also have fixed the issue with the other plugin ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
