    I think I figured it out. I wasn’t using WooCommerce for a while, so I forgot that I can’t run test purchases from a local environment like WAMP, at least not with the regular setup.

    If somebody knows a method how I could set it up for PayPal on a local web server, I would appreciate any hints.

    You can use PDT. If you login to sandbox and grab the PDT token (I think it’s in website selling prefs) you can use this in our settings.

    PDT updates the order when you return from sandbox to your store.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but that won’t work either because PayPal won’t accept a local URL: We were unable to validate the URL you have entered. Please check your entry and try again.
