(they successfully registered and booked via EM- hit the pay now button- see the paypal login screen- and get redirected to 404)

in regard to my question above… are there good alternatives to paypal which can be used instead (api etc)?

do you have sample link to your site for us to see and analyze please? it seems to be working fine on my test site.

    sure: https://www.superbike-coach.com

it seems this is only going wrong with smart phones. people can’t login to their paypal accounts to make payments. you need to try this via phone

Is this happening on the PayPal website? We have no control over how users are redirected once they are on the PayPal site.

yes. you hit the pay now button on my website… then you see the paypal login screen, and when you try login you got redirected to 404. only via smartphone!
here is what paypal told me about it:

I have researched those payments attempts and there is no error on the PayPal side .
Also screenshot shows “404 Not Found” nginx. There are multiple reports of this nginx error posted on the internet.
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/404-not-found-nginx-message/091b9a72-47e5-41aa-bfda-ec63a3d81450?auth=1

It looks to occur due to malware/spyware that corrupts the host file in the phones/PC’s that hinders web page loading.
We have previously escalated to Engineering team but because the error is internal to the device browser it cannot be fixed remotely from PayPal’s end.

maybe the api code needs an update or something?

    (@caimin_nwl)

No, what they are telling you is that problem is caused by a malware or spyware issue on the user’s phone. Nothing to do with PayPal and nothing to do with Events Manager.

relax, i also think that this is not a EM issue. I just try to find out if you guys might know about this.

we’ve tested it with 5 different smart phones and 4 different providers- non of them could make a payment! btw… i am pretty sure paypal knows about it since a long time.

i’m looking at authorize.net right now. i have the sandbox running good, but i learned this requires SSL certificates. Is that right? Do you know their minimum requirements in key size etc?

    caimin_nwl

    (@caimin_nwl)

Yes, that’s true. Sandbox mode doesn’t need SSL but live mode does. You would need to check with Authorize.net if you need exact specifications.
